hello i was wondering has anyone any answers to any of these questions i know some have been talked about but with no answers i might be able to help with some other faults i managed to cure
1 very hard on diesel 28-34 mpg which is discraceful
book states 40mpg + ive had it looked at on computer new air flow meter etc still the same
2 blue smoke on start up but none after a few seconds its embarrasing from a 08 van with 55k
3 rear tyre wear approx 5-7k tyres have had it serious roadnoise vibration etc it should do 25k plus on rear tyres
4 clunk in steering wheel new rack fitted no change cant be traced
5 washer jets fuse ok motor removed and it runs when given 12v wipers go through motions but no power to washer jet motor
6 vibration when idle
7 anyone managed to have ECONOMY MODE removed its extremely annoying

ive already replaced the intercooler leaks wishbones fixed antiroll bar removed dpf filter and reprogrammed blocked off egr valve due to engine clogging up replaced air flow sensor replaced steering rack and wiper stalk i prob should sell and move on but would rather fix and keep as long as it doesnt get worse and mpg can get sorted out
thanks in advance

did no one have any of above problems anyone get any cure especially fuel consumption

Sorry to disappoint, but 28-34 MPG...this is pretty well spot on! I think its 40 MPG if you are salesman.:slayer: I drive a TW200 Taxi (Fiat Scudo) July 2006 161000 miles; MPG is calculated every time I tops up the squirt for the past 5 years (its a great indicator if something's wrong). 29 MPG is average. If loadsa long runs and I do not thrash it might go to 40 MPG...only might mind you! :D

Rear tyre wear...if you are constantly loaded in the back, and perhaps springs have "lost it" you will have wear to the inside tyre edges...damned nuisance that! had the tyre well OK with tread, but when got under the inside edge was nearly down to the ply! horror!. Sorted with balloons aids added to springs...now if it gets down to the ply its all the way across!:) (No...only joking!)

Vibration at idle...do please take advantage of this and park outside Ann Summers.(y)

WTF is "Economy mode"? my 06 beastie must be prehistoric I suppose.:bang:

Haven't a clue about blue smoke or washer jets...you say washer jets work when 12V applied direct, and fuse is OK, I would suspect corrosion in harness connectors, favorite trick of mine is to take my meter, one leg to earth and the other to a very sharp sewing needle...prod this through the insulation along the wire route until you lose the 12V...hope this is helpful for you?

I would be very interested in the nuts n bolts 4 how you blanked off the EGR...is this fairly straightforward? [ame][/ame]

thanks for reply i would think yours is the earlier scudo
anyway to blank off the egr valve is a common modification ive done it to every car or van ive owned as it recirculates dirty exhaust gases back through the engine and eventually cloggs and sticks open causing inefficent running high mpg etc to blank it is really easy remove valve and fit a thin plate between manifold and valve job done you can prob buy a ready made blanking plate on ebay
in a nutshell blanking egr valve keeps the internals cleaner its one thing less than can fail in the future the engine should run smoother
