Hi Does any one know the procedure in replacing the gear cable linkages on a 2 litre tdi scudo as mine broke around the ball joint where it is bonded on - the rubber has broken
thanks
Paul

Having had the linkages off my 1.9EL to do the clutch, access isn't too bad (especially if you can raise the front onto axle stands). The attachment at the gearbox simply levers off a small ball-joint. I didn't get a close look at the gear stick end but suspect another simple arrangement.

Overall I reckon it's a very 'do-able' job for the DIYer.

Just wondering if anyone can advise about a very loose gearchange on my Scudo. The gears all go in fine, but it's a bit wobbly. Do I need new gear links or can it just be adjusted? Thanks

Hi my son in law's 2009 Scudo gear linkage was loose, when I lifted the gator I found the gear stick ball cradle mount bracket assembly had broken away from the grey shroud consul I had to make a metal angle bracket and bolt it to the consul and the cradle.
It is a bit flimsy I thought I wondered if Fiat had a mod kit for it❓

Does anyone know if there would be any difference between the gearbox cable linkage from a 1.9 2003 Scudo to a Scudo expert dispatch?

Hi Paul.

Replacing the gear cables is quite easy, remove the glove box and surrounding plastic, you can then remove the centre plastic shroud from around the gear lever, you will then see the cables make a stright run to the gearbox where they just pop off the ball. couple of hours work.
