General Radio code needed for scudo van??!!

Just joined the forum, sorry to put this as a reply - it should be a new posting but I haven't found out how to do it. I too need a radio code for a Scudo. Do I have to take the radio out of the van to find numbers on it, and if so, how do I do that?

Many thanks,

Chris

Hi, Welvome to the FF.

Yes... you will need to remove the radio to see the numbers.

I can't tell you how to remove it without knowing which model radio you have. If it has 2 small holes each end of the front panel, then you need 2 tools as in the picture below.

You could make them from a wire coat hanger, or similar stiff wire. Push the tools into each of the 2 pairs of holes until you feel some resitance, then push another 5mm. Then pull the radio out.

Hi, Welvome to the FF.

My radio only has one hole at each end. I have tried poking in some bits of coat hanger - which only just goes into the holes - flattened at the ends like slotted screwdriver blades, but no joy. Am I doing something wrong?

If the radio has a slot at each end of the front panel, you may need 2 tools as in this picture.

No slots. It's got FIAT on the top LHS, and R.D.S/EON near the ntop RHS. One hole at the top LHS, one at the top RHS.

It looks like this one:

I look forward to reply many thanks

I got it out (thank you Mr. Masters - I used 65mm galvanised nails, it took more of a pull than I'd thought).

Next: there's a yellow "laser" sticker on top, an orange one with the nmodel (PU2294A(C)) and serial number (CL04...57C), and a white sticker over some vents about 2" by 1" with nothing written on it, all on the top of the radio.

There is nothing else that I can see apart from a few numbers printed on the metal case and some labels on the cables. Nothing like C70...0XXXX.

Any ideas?

Edit: The orange label does have a bar code on it, but it looks as though the number is the serial number above CL04...57C.
