Re: Warranty question....

Just been told that 60K is the warranty and that something major has happened - Fiat still looking into it.
I still have 2 years finance to pay and am now worried about my situation as I could face a big bill or try to take the garage to court who serviced the van before the breakdown.
Any advice??

Re: Warranty question....

I think you first need to establish what the actual fault is & take it from there?

If the limit is 60k you do not have any warranty at your mileage !!

Re: Warranty question....

my understanding is that the powertrain is the main engine block (without things like alternators, water pumps, power steering pumps etc) The gearbox (but not the linkage to the gear stick) the axles the hubs, but I could be wrong.

forgot to mention - the warranty miliage should be on your warranty document / statement.

Re: Warranty question....

Out of warranty. Looks like the original repairer may have dropped a bollock on this one.
I have paid for an independant dealer (not known to mechanic) to check it out for another diagnosis.
If the original repairer is found to be negligent, what can I do to get the repair bill paid by them?

Re: Warranty question....

Had a second opinion and it appears that the Garage installed a non fiat cam belt and incorrectly.
I now want to take action - any ideas???
