Hi,

I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction with my '99 Scudo.

Getting between 1st to 4th was always fine, but getting into 5th has slowly been getting more 'hit and miss' - it felt as though there was not enough travel on the gear stick to get it fully home. Also, when on the overrun (ie no load on the gearbox) it has recently started coming out of 5th into neutral.

Yesterday it did this (came out of gear) and that's it - it won't go into any gear at all. The side to side movement of the gear stick is OK but it won't go forward or back.

I'm no expert, but the fact that it's a problem that has been getting worse (rather than going "bang") makes me think (hope!!) that it's a problem outside of the gearbox, not inside.

Is there anything obvious I can look for myself with it up on the ramps, or am I being too optimistic?

Thanks

Mike

(y) Remove The Air Box Under The Bonnet Have Someone Shift Gear For You And Watch The Linkage Cables Conected To The Gear Box,, Chances Are That The Aluminum Coupling On The Gearbox Have Cracked Just Like Mine Did..... I Find It Hard To Select First Gear,,, A Real Pain In The Butt... THIS CAN BE CHECKED WITHOUT THE RAMP, GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND(y)
