Is that possible?

Because on my 2006 Croma: time, doors locking, unit of measure....are all
modifiable only from Connect nav and not from the menu key on the left of
steering wheel

If i would like to replace the connect nav with a more modern device... could I do it or not? Is there any way to do it?

Yes you can.

There's also a function in MES (CAN Monitor / Vehicle Settings) to adjust the vehicle settings without carrying out the PA procedure.
.

But...to give it a try...can I change settings also with connect still mounted?
That is, with connect nav not removed, can I change settings and have (for example) hour adjustable from menu key?

You can try, but I don't think it will work while the CN is still connected to the CAN. You may even damage something.

To test it, just disconnect the connectors from the CN. It's the CAN wires that need to be disconnected. I think they are Black/pink and White/pink and are probably in the same connector block as the power supply and earth wires.

Ok...and after... re-connecting the connect nav...I'll have to do the procedure again...is it right?

Good point. (y)

When you reconnect the CN, you may need to carry out the Proxy Alignment procedure.
.

Ok done! It works!
Not only: after the test, connected again... the connect nav, done again the Proxy Alignment....you have all the functions (time, doors locking, units of measure, etc) all
modifiable both from Connect nav and from the menu key on the left of
steering wheel! Not only fron the Connect ...and not only from the menu key.
Great!

Once you've removed the Connect Nav, you will need to carry out the Proxy Alignment procedure, then all the vehicle settings should be available on the menu key.
.

You are great!

I was thinking about a new question for you.

In a Croma with the last Blue and Me Nav, is the procedure the same?

I know that in that cars, the nav and the blue and me for gps phone are separate, so eventually to do a correct proxy allignment...to dismount the nav to install a new 2 din radio...one has to disconnect also the blue and me module to do a right proxy allignment procedure? And if yes, where is that module?
Thank you!

Have you successfully removed the old radio with connect nav? Usually you can remove the stock radio which which includes nav, bluetooth etc. then, you can install in a aftermarket radio directly. There are many aftermarket radio manufactures like seicane produces these products. Wish you all the best. :D
