Can anyone recommend a decent sat nav at a reasonable price that tells you what speed your going & warns you when your approaching speed camera?

I bought a Garmin Nuvi 30 from Halfords last year for £50. The screen is a bit small but its a great little bit of kit. Fits nice and neatly in the bottom right of my windscreen. Only thing I don't like about is when its warning you about speed cameras the warning obscures about half the screen.

I have nav free which is pretty good but I am looking for a sat nav that I can use to save my phone battery & warn me of cameras & speed

Nav free is good for a free one but personally the screens a bit small for me. In my opinion you can't beat a tomtom. I got the XL from halfords for £79 but I'm sure you could find them cheaper online somewhere

Can anyone recommend a sat nav with dual effiency which send you on the best route to save fuel?

My TomTom from Halfords (Halfrauds) does the whole thing.
Advise you getting Map Updates and Speed Camera updates for life upgrade or 2 years if you are worried about it.

Look in there, best place to play about with them.

Mine has speed camera setting and if they're not there you can clear them.
Also eco route option for distance and best fuel economy.

I think I will have a play about with them actually. What model is it?

I could do with replacing my antique Sony
ukhotdeals flag-up a Garmin 2517LM @ £90 from Aldi
Garmin are a popular aircraft installation – so should be good for car methinks.

I use a binatone with IGO software on it, sat nav cost me a fiver in local paper and software is downloaded free. It doesn't do speed cameras but if you don't speed (and thus break the law) you dont need this function anyway.

Never had a problem with TomTom, Garmin always trys to send me off bridges to get on the motorway.

Haha yeah I've noticed that too, I bought a new Garmin from argos for £90 at Christmas but i'd rather have TomTom and now they also do lifetime mapping its an easy choice.

To be honest there isn't much in it, you can buy a decent model from any of the main brands for a hundred quid that'll do what you want.

I used nav free for a while but it started giving me adverts so I binned it. What I did now was got one of these

The tend to be £10 cheaper when the sale is on or get one 2nd hand on ebay. I got one for £10. Just get a UK and Ireland one and run the iGO8 software from the SD card. You can add maps, Points of Interest and Speed Cameras. It wont tell you when plod has a hand held in a bush though. It will also give you your speed. If you want one and look in ebay that is a Binatone F430.

You using the latest iGO8 software? I have the static speed cameras in mine. The other later software (Primo 2) also works on the Binatone from SD card that also has speed cameras. The forum is down just now but worth keeping an eye out and joining here if you are having problems or looking for updates

Or this lot is also handy

The 2nd one id full of Australians and Americans so you don't get an answer to your problems straight away but still worth joining.
