If you haven't seen it, www.waze.com is brilliant - free voice guided satnav on iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Nokia phones.
It uses its network of users to provide realtime feedback, so you get really accurate traffic, incident and hazard news.
It also has a groups feature so you can track, liaise and send instand updates to other people in your group.... I've set one up called "stilo@fiatforum" if anyone wants to join in... be interesting if only to see the interactive map on waze.com and see where all fellow forum posters currently are!
The SatNav itself uses your phone's GPS, or, like google maps, will give an approximation based on mobile cell if you don't have GPS. The routing is supposedly "self learning" - instructions are very good and clear.
