As per subject line, thinking of getting one but I can't find any decent video clips of it in use, so I've no idea what it's like.
Is it possible to enter locations via postcode? Are the calculated routes any good.
Does it sync well with everything else - eg. mobile, ,music etc?

All responses appreciated.

TomTom is probably the most respected name in SatNav. I've used lots of different systems and IMO there is no better routing engine than that used by TomTom. Routes are efficient and easy to follow and you can easily add your own POI's. You can also navigate to full 7 character postcodes (UK).

As regards the integration with B&M several other members of this forum have made very positive comments. Not only do you get the SatNav, but you can also manage your music through the TT and your steering wheel controls, plus eco:drive, GSI, etc.

The only really negative aspect of this system is the price. But maybe it's a good example of you get what you pay for?

There are some good videos clips around - I'll see if I can find some.

I've just had a look on YouTube and there's lots of videos on there.
Just search for something like "Blue & Me Tomtom"
(Sorry, I can't post links yet as I'm a newbie)

I currently have a B&M Tomtom sitting in a box waiting for me to try out when I pick up the car on Saturday. I'll give some feedback once I've used them together a little.

I assume you have the dash port fitted to the car so I would say that you won't be disappointed if you buy the BLUE&ME TomTom. However, if you don't have the port then the other functions won't be available, in that case it would be a better bet to buy an ordinary TomTom.

Grimwau, you obviously know more about this than me, but as the port only has two contacts enabled, I presume that it only supplies power to the TomTom? Therefore, all communications between the satnav and car must be by bluetooth. If that's the case, why would the other functions not be available if you don't have the port?
Is there a different version of Blue&Me/Bluetooth for cars with/without the port?

Thanks for your replies. I've had a look on youtube, but I can't find any specific ones in English showing how it works. So if you have links I'd appreciate it very much.

Yep, I do have the dash port fitted. I just want to check that it's good before paying up for it.

What month/year was the car built? If it is before Sept 2010 then it will be designated 54K and the BLUE&ME TomTom will not have all the features supported. It will however still dock with the port using the cradle supplied, so it will receive power from it doing away with the need to use a separate mount and power cord.

If it was built after that date then it is classified as 68R and all functions are enabled. (y)

Hope that helps.

Hi eco sTAr, as above, there are two different versions, 54K & 68R and only the 68R version (cars built after Sept 2010) supports the pairing of the TomTom to the BLUE&ME system.

I'm still in 2 minds about ordering one, especially after reading some of ther reviews on the fiat-accessories site.

I have just tried to buy a Blue&Me TomTom from the Fiat Accessories website but it is no longer available on their site.

I called them and was told it had been discontinued. The guy said it was being replaced with a new model but that would not be available until August.

Seems a bit daft to stop selling something before the replacement is ready.

Thanks everyone again for your replies and clearing up my confusion.

I guess I'll wait until August in that case to see what TomTom has to offer.
