I was just wondering if anyones had any experience with the Blue&Me TomTom yet?

I'm curious as to weather the stand will hide away or be removable when not in use?

Also, whats the stop some spotty oik crunching the window & unslotting the satnav?

Im just thinking for 15-20min general drives, the thing will be sitting in the glove box used once every 6months if it isnt secured, and having a butt-ugly stalk hanging out of the dashboard is just rubbish, so does anyone know if its secure or if the stalk tucks away anywhere etc?

Hiya, i've had a play, and you've got nothing to worry about.

Basically, the stand slots into a charging port on the dash, when you aren't using it you can remove it, and chuck it in the glovebox, sticky-circle-on-windscreen-free.

With it unplugged, it looks quite smart and tidy, just a socket on the dash with a cover over it.

Very very good system, you will use it more than once every 6 months, if only for the Eco:Drive system, which, in real time tells you how economically you're driving, and when to shift up and down.

Think you can get one free on an Evo GP, and free servicing for three years, but check with your dealer.

How much does the TomTom Blue&Me cost from a dealership?

I ordered my eleganza yesterday, and well... receipt says Tom Tom £170.

I thought it was more around the £275 range?

Fiat.co.uk says the blue and me tom tom is £287.04. I've just placed an order for an Evo GP and thanks to doing my research, i've got one free. The dealer was adamant that the sat nav was an extra and wouldn't throw one in but i went back with some stuff printed off Fiat's website and he looked at it and made some enquiries and came back saying it was only free when purchasing a GP with finance. I'm paying cash so i was a bit disappointed.

However, in fairness to the dealer, he called me back the next day and told me that it doesn't matter wether it's purchased with finance or cash, it's free with a GP only so i'm quite pleased now! Saves me paying £287.04!

Sounds good, really weird they've put it on my receipt as £170 though..

I need to go back there on monday & check on a few things cause im not happy with the receipt saying "Black", the guy who printed it was like "Oh it'll be the right black, theres only 1 for that price!" ... i want the Progressive Black (has a red tint to it)

and i want to check the interior, cause they didnt ask me what i wanted... aint risking getting the brown interior on my eleganza!

But im kinda thinking hmm...ive either got a bargin tomtom dealio here or they've some how put me down for the wrong one? but i dont want to question that incase its the right tomtom at half the price, so i dont wanna draw there attention to it.. lol

I'm told by my local dealer that the blue and me tom tom can't be bought anywhere else (hence the high price probably!) so if this is the case, you've got a bargain! I'd keep scthum!

I was looking at the eleganza but don't want a 5 door hence my choice of a GP but i know what you mean about the interior. Brown isn't very nice! I'd get onto them pronto! lol

yeah think ill stay quiet about the tomtom lol

mine was much the otherway around, i didnt want a 3 door & i wanted some gadgetry, tried to get a GP with the Eleganza spec but £1000 extra was painful especially as the only difference between GP & Eleganza seems to be darked out windows / subwoofer / side skirts.

Only thing i REALLY wanted from the GP was the sub, but no go on that with Eleganza (Dont know why! *gutted), but i guess i can take it somewhere & get a basic sub installed on the cheap if the sounds lacking. :)

Will be raiding the garage tomorrow afternoon & get my salesman to check on the colour paint & interior, maybe even ask them to correct the receipt just incase.

I have recently ordered an Evo GP, wasn't told anything about a free TomTom! Anyone know where this info comes from because if it is free, I want one! :D

I dont have any proof personally but Elation is in car sales & he told me about the free satnav on the GP as part of deal etc + hes posted it on this thread.

Also another person on my thread in the grande punto forum has ordered a GP & managed to score the free satnav too, so its safe to say its doable... weather its doable after you've done the deal i dont know.

I'm still shocked ive only been charged £170 for my satnav when it should be £280 for my Eleganza, not sure whats going to happen! lol

When i placed an order for an Evo GP, i took with me the following info i printed off from Fiat.co.uk

http://www.fiat.co.uk/Content/?id=21383

They are advertised as finance offers but they are only examples and it clearly states;

"you can upgrade to a Punto Evo 1.4 GP 3 door and get Air Conditioning, a Rear Spoiler, 16” Alloy Wheels and also the new Blue&Me – TomTom satellite navigation system, giving you hands-free control of your phone and music."

When i asked my dealer he wasn't too sure and so i pushed it until he gave me a definate answer. the following day he rang me to say that it was free with a GP only and when i popped in the following day after he rang, he even shown me his training notes stating 2 codes which the dealer has to input into the system in order to get a free sat nav from Fiat UK. The 1st code is for purchasing the car on finance and the 2nd code is for purchasing the car without finance.

I'd have a word with your dealer and ask him/her to make some enquiries about this as we are paying a substantial amount of money for the car and therefore want what we are entitled to.

I've since changed my mind about the GP and gone for the sporting so i don't qualify for the free sat nav (even though i'm paying more!!) but i've struck a deal with my dealer to get the sat nav half price.

I had a good bargaining tool when agreeing the sale of my new Evo. i went onto Fiat Supasaver and there is £2500 off the list price on there and so haggled with my dealer and explained nicely that i wanted to do the deal with him but if the price isn't right, i would go to Fiat Supasaver. The only downside to that is that you don't get your free servicing so do your research beforehand! I have since met the dealer halfway and got an additional discount as well as the half price sat nav. I may have paid around £250 more that Fiat supasaver but it saves me the hassle of travelling miles to collect and i still have a good relationship with my dealer.

I hope this helps you. I'm a stickler for looking into things and i'm glad i did!
