i got this in my car (the dealer told me this is a slot for a navigation system)
can anyone tell me which navigation system and how this can be used? (maybe even pics)

the less loose cables, the better

look in the fiatshop.com

Sri would have send you the link - but i am not allowed yet.

I know it is in german, but it might help you any way.

The maps will cost you 30 euro for one country.

This is all I know, but I am very interested as well.

Hi the blue & me sat nav holdee fits in the slot. if you'r a uk member can post you the part nos for holder and sat nav tomorrow

Ok as promised.
Part No 71804250 is for blue & me map with sucktion bracket for window.
Part no 71804247 is for blue & me with connection on dash.
71804248 is for sucktion bracket, to use with 71804247 if transfering to another car.
Both sat navs come with a mains charger but this as a european plug. the part No for the adapter is 46003927. when buying the sat nav ask the dealer if this is supplied FOC

I thought (I may be wrong) that the in dash connection wasn't available on/for UK cars? This may have changed of course.
I have seen the on windscreen application and it looks no better than the after market ones, although it will of course allow calls etc through the cars sound system.

Just got my little girl yesterday - ordered with the Blue&Me Nav - it arrived in this country with the hole...... system works well - the pairing was a pain! But it works well - for my first ever sat nav I cant think of why its a bad one to have.

hi

My car has arrived at the dealers and has the port hole for the sat nav. I was looking on the fiat site at the actual satnav and it quotes 159 inc vat yet my dealer told me it costs 199,are there two different models?

Hello, thanks for that info. Do you know if you can order the part 71804247 online? I cannot find it on fiat.co.uk or using google...

hubby paid £175 inc vat @ a dealers for mine...... note returned 1st unit not working...... 2nd unit not much better keeps shutting down..... hubby put in a cheapo navigon from halfords... £68..... much better than the over price blue & me maps..... save the agro buy a cheapo......

Our car came with the "dash-top pod" for slotting in the Fiat sat-nav, never bought the Fiat system as we already had a Mio system which has bluetooth and mp3, also has "pedestrian mode" which is ideal for "walkabout", and usable in any vehicle. :)

Oh it sounds a bit crap then, that's a shame as was looking forward to an integrated system.

Perhaps wait for version 2?

We got ours today and its got the blue and me nav. It is by far the very very worst sat nav system I have ever come across.

In out town - only three roads are listed. If I put my house as the destination when I am here it says I have 20 yards to go.

The disjointed computerised speech is frustrating and difficult to understand.

You have to wait for it to finifh the whole list of options before you can answer or tell it your option.

You have to have the nav USB dongle plugged into the USB slot for it to work (it has no internal memory - so you cant use the MP3 player if you are using sat nav).

Even though it only comes with the UK map - you have to start every destination by saying you are going to the United Kingdom.

Its slow, frustrating, inaccurate, limited (no post code entry here!), dysphasic and deaf. It was also quite expensive.

For all those people busily trying to retrofit... save nearly all the money, buy a five year old TomTom and gloat at how much better your system is than mine.

I feel ashamed that I bought it and I feel like giving the whole car back because of it. What a pile of...

Interesting opinion. I've not had any experience with the blue&me sat nav, certainly seems as though its not great. Imo it looks pretty neat though, and I also really like the idea of an integrated system - I hate wires. Seems a shame its not better.

Oh dear. I bought one of these Blue&Me Map units for our new 500 which has yet to be delivered. I bought the window mount one thinking I could pick up the dash mount part separately giving me the best of both worlds. Wrong - even though I will have the port (hole in the dash) in the car, you cannot buy just the mount to accompany the satnav unit itself. Ridiculous in this year of 2010.

Then echoing the description below, the instructions that came with it do not tie in with reality. The accompanying disc had no software on it at all although the instructions said it should have. As soon as I plugged it into my laptop, the satnav crashed requiring resetting at the back and then it still wouldn't link up with the PC. I gave up at this point and it is still in the box since.

From the 5 minutes of playing with it it is a poor poor product costing top dollar (£200!) The single and only selling point for this Satnav is that it matches the decor of the car. Other than that it is rubbish and would never have made it to market were it trying to compete with regular Satnavs.

It's a shame really because every other aspect of the Fiat 500 is done so well - and this is so bad.
