Oh, that.
Until now Garmin had the 2x0 series on the market, the 200, 250, 270 and their wide versions, the 200W, 250W and probably also a 270W (but I have never seen that).
Now they have just launche the 2x5 series, the 205, 205W, 255, and 255W. If they are sold with a traffic receiver (the GTM-25) a T is added to the name: 205T, 255WT.
The middle digit tells you what kind of map is loaded. In Europe 0 means a single nation, 5 means all the 33 nations covered by Garmin in Europe, 7 means both Europe and the US on the same navigator. In the US 0 means the lower 48 states, and 5 means the whole US and Canada.
The '5' continental units also have TTS, Text-To-Speech, i.e. they can read aloud the name of the streets telling you "turn right on Oxford Street" instead of "turn right".
Soon a 265/265W should appear, with bluetooth, as a ten in the model number shows BT (310/360...)
An 8 (Nüvi 880) means that it has an MSN receiver for the North American market.
The 2x5 series has a faster CPU than all the previous models, and a lot of other new features.
