I think you would be better off with a normal Sat Nav, with the speed camera database on.

I use a Garmin, and update the database weekly, for a minimal yearly fee. Granted, it only shows FIXED points, and spots where mobile units MAY be, but that tends to be good enough.

Dedicated ones will have laser detection though, not sure of legality of this now.

Yea i see where you are coming from Stu, so what company do the fixed speed camera thing? is it just Garmin? and how much is the fee for updating?

Most Sat Navs have the ability to add it as a poi.

I use the official Garmin one, which I renewed at £29 for a year BUT I have also seen these guys do it for £19:

I may be tempted to move to them on renewal. You can also see the compatible units as well

the road angel or snooper units will be dedicated to either laser or radar, im not sure if theyve produced an all round one yet so even if it did hand held units, it will only do some of them
plus if it tells you theres a hand held one on you, its too late, youve about a second or less to slow down so your caught pretty much

best bet is a jammer lol. bit of a grey area in the law but becoming more and more black

you can get a navigation system for buttons these days so i wouldnt worry bout that

and as stu said, all sat nav companies usually do fixed speed cameras as they are just gps locations
