Garmin / City Navigator updates

Just managed to sort out the 2008 European maps on my Garmin Nuvi 200W

My original maps on there were from Sept 2006, and UK and Eire only. Not any more.

Wasn't that hard to do, once I had sussed it - so if anybody is interested in the technique, and doesn't want to spend any £s, post on this thread and all will be revealed.

You will also need the POI loader from Garmin, link in that site.

Also, on link above, go for Categorised download, looks like he mistyped 2008, and put 2007.

right got loader, got shopping, it inna zip do i unzip it first?

Yep, unzip it, and you should have a directory called 'Complete_Sub' - this is the one you search for in POI loader.

i unzipped it to g:\poi\shopping, in in the unit now, says i done

So what maps are you using then?

maps that it come with i think, did an update dunno what it updated, some speed cameras i think.
add all what? i added about 6000 shops
got no memory card in the slot it didnt have one so not loads of room in there i dont think

Added all POIs, it is more than just shops

I do speedcamera updates everyweek, from the Garmin site.

If you plug in the unit to the PC, you should be able to 'explore' it via My Computer, and see what space you have left.

As for maps, go through options and there should be a map info button. When did you buy it?
