Stilo SATNAV Problem

Not sure if this will be of any help to anyone but thought I would post it anyhow! For around two months i have been with my my Satnav Connect + in my Stilo. All other aspects of the system worked perfectly except the Nav part? The problem was intermittent which made it even more frustrating. In a nutshell one day it would work, then it wouldn`t work for several days then I would get a run of days where it would work fine? At first i thought it may just be atmospheric conditions but after a few days and having owned a Stilo with this system before i came to the conclusion that this was more serious. I searched various threads but couldn`t find anyone with issues that matched mine? I tried various things like cold booting the system i.e. press set-up four times. Sometimes this seemed to work but i am now more convinced that this was coincidence The service menu would always show the GPS atenna as connected OK? So thought it may have been a firmware issue, re-flashed 9.8 and exactley the same Ok time to remove the unit I thought ,as this was driving me nuts. So cut bits of my coat hanger and eased out the unit. All the connections were present and correct which was a shame, I was hoping to see the GPS lead half hanging out!! So having some electronics experience I went first for the GPS lead connector (Grey). I unplugged the connection cleaned with a fiberglass pen and re-crimped with a fine nosed pair of pliers and re-connected. A simple case of a bad plug connection, now the Satnav picks up the GPS signal in a matter of seconds everytime, all back and working I have removed the Connect + unit from my watched items in Ebay (yes one there if anyone needs it) and saved myself a few hundred pounds as I was getting closed to buying a replacement unit. I wouldn`t have thought that this is a common issue but may help someone if they have the same symptoms with their Satnav Connect + system?
