Sadly 5,000 would be unrealistic. The Strada/Ritmo in the UK is considered an unreliable rust trap and you would be very very lucky to get much money for it at all. TC club members obviously rate them, but still 5,000 is over the odds.

Re: Strada 105 TC for sale (Y reg)

Well LemonBear, this one has been saved since it has avoided the English weather for the last 14 years. And I still have not found any hidden places with rust, apart from the left sill that has a very small rust spot.Anyway, we'll see whenever I make the trip about the price that I can get

Re: Strada 105 TC for sale (Y reg)

Well this thread has certainly bought the memories flooding back!

I had a red one just like that from new. Fabulous car, especially the engine, which in those days for a 1600 used to go really well, unlike those nowadays weighed down with all the emissions stuff which really knocks the edge off performance.

They also did a 125 TC (actually had one overtake me when touring in France) which unfortunately they couldn't/wouldn't do in RHD because if I remember correctly difficulties with the steering column or rack?

Of course they did a 130 TC Mk. 2 but as said they weren't as good looking as the Mk. 1's and I therefore never fancied one.

I'll see if I can find some photos of mine, scan them and post up.

Yes please do so.

Re: Strada 130TC MKI & MKII there were little obvious differences between them other that the alloy wheels and front grille, so I'm not sure what you dislike about the MkII 130TCs?

Re: Strada 105 TC for sale (Y reg)

s130 - just personal preference really. As you say front grille and alloys, but they did make a big difference to how the car looked. The Mk. 1 had a unique look to it and when I saw a 105 TC in the show room I thought wow and just had to have one! I just never felt the same about the Mk. 2 (the Mk. 1 seemed to me to have been designed in the whole and everything just seemed to sit right with each other whereas with the Mk. 2 the grille just seemed like a half-baked attempt at an upgrade, though it did seem to work better with the less sporty models) and went for a Regatta (was it the 100 with the 1600 engine?) which was a nice car but obviously not as sporty as the Strada.

My wife had a Strada as well, Mk. 1 again but the 1300. My brother had a Mk. 2, he worked for a Fiat dealer at the time, and that was a nice car to drive.

Re: Strada 105 TC for sale (Y reg)

Hello

I am the originall (or actually the previous) owner of this car. Accidentally I found this thread while searching for Multipla's interior dimensions so I would like to add some details.

The car was bought in 1997. We've been told that it belonged to an old lady doctor from new which she was unable to drive and the MOT's (which I still have stored somewhere in my house) proved that since the last 5 years it only covered 50 or 100 miles per year (to th MOT station and back I guess). Anyway, we never met the old lady but the garage which sold me the car was reliable.
The car had about 15 K when I bought it and during my last year in UK i used it daily mainly on the M62 (I leaved in Huddersfield but studied in Bolton).
Apart fom preventive servicing (we replaced the cambelt when I bought it) and putting 4 new tyres, the car needed nothing so I decided to take it back home in July 98. The only problem I encountered was a fuel pump few hours before taking the ferry from Ancona to Patras (I think it was the first time that the Strada was running in so hot weather so the 15 yo pump had all the rights to go .... south) but the local 'servizio' Fiat replaced it within 30 minutes.

Upon returning to Greece, I did used the car for about a year but then it proved difficult to insure it (UK plates) so I drove it periodically and after 2002 I managed to found a basement to store it. Since then I just fired the engine ocasionally until Yanni bought it from me.

It must be mentioned though that this is the very first series 105 TC since the McPherson struts have 2 attachment points in the turrets (later ones had 3). Moreover is not the usual rustbag since the first owner seem that she parked it in a garage as well so it haven't been exposed continually to the UK weather.
The only rust that had to be repaired was a small patch in the rear wheel arch (where the plastic is attached) and in the rear hatch just in front of the rear spoiler. Thas was done when it was resprayed in Septembet 98.

I hope you find that info usefull.
This car brings back memories to me and I thought that I would never sell it but some changes in my life made it really hard to keep it.

Thanks for your comments "Another Fiat".

I will always respect another persons views and yours about MkI vs MKII 130TCs are very welcome, especially as any Strada 105TC/125TC/130TC have not been well received compared to other much less worthy cars. I love all of them, but do have a personal preference

Re: Strada 105 TC for sale (Y reg)

s130 - Thanks for taking my comments in the way I intended i.e. constructive and not taking offence as some would. But those were my genuine views when the cars were available new - I feel old now!

The thing that most grated with me then was the fact that they changed the grille but kept the original wings which were clearly designed to fit with the Mk. 1 bonnet, hence my comment about it being designed as a whole and the Mk. 2 not so much so. Perhaps if they had redesigned the wings as well I would have thought differently? By the way, you forgot to mention the different rear lights as well!

No matter what I think though, it's great that guys like you and others are still running and loving Stradas. I kept mine for 5 years and saw it once or twice after I sold it but fear that it went to the great scrap yard in the sky not long after.

I will definitely have a look for those photos, taken just after I bought the car.

Re: Strada 105 TC for sale (Y reg)

I showed some interest in this car some time ago, I also have a friend who is a mechanic not far from where the car is situated. I am still interested and I can pass the details for it to be viewed.
