Hi,
Do you have a windscreen chrome trim for a 1983 strands convertible?
I’m looking to sell the car which has been family owned from new and has covered only 84,000 miles if you know anyone who may be interested.
Regards,
David

Whilst on the subject of parts - do you think there would be much interest in a pair of almost new Abarth 130TC Strada Wind Deflectors. I brought a pair new back in the early 90's when I had my 130TC, had them fitted to the car for about six months prior to me selling it. Still in the Fiat / Lancia wrappers. Have the metal clips but remember there was a U-channel strip, but can't locate that.

Kept them with a view that one day I'd own another 130TC...… !

They are sometimes sought after as the late 1997 early 1988 130TCs were shipped without these wind deflectors or they were removed at the UK dock yards on arrival in the UK.

Our 130TC (late 1997 build and bought NEW Jan 88) arrived with no deflectors BUT you can still see the slight paintwork impressions where they were once fitted.

The deflectors had two main criticisms which possibly led to their demise/removal.

1) They deflected as designed but increased/created their own noise
2) Being early 80s period perspex material their transparency faded quickly and went a horrible soft bronze/brown ting in colour

Now with all that I've said then they are a rare commodity and they are occasionally sought after.

If it helps I can look up the part numbers for all the bits and you can web search to see what (if any) availability / prices are like to guide you if you want to put yours up for sale.

Thanks that is really helpful - yes I do know they go funny in colour and thankfully the ones I have remained very clear.

If it is easy to get that information then it would be most welcome.

Have checked the official parts slides and sadly / oddly the wind deflectors are not listed as a standard part.

This means that the only part number(s) I will be able to possibly find are those related/listed in the "Accessories" catalogue of the period. But if you have yours in the original packaging then these will already have the "complete unit" part number. Any sub part numbers (clips etc.) I guess are now no longer readily available.

A query through your Fiat dealer to "Fiat Parts Technical Support" might provide some info but I suspect for Fiat UK they will only have what I have and they will have to go back to Fiat Italy to hunt down any manufacturing drawings / suppliers and part numbers for each of the individual items.

Do very much appreciate the info = I'm actually sure that when I purchased mine they had already been discontinued and I managed to get them due to a cancelled order. The dealer had kept them for three months awaiting collection but the customer never showed....so not totally surprised.

I'll dig them out when I can and see if there are any labels still stuck to the packaging

Thanks again
