Fiat Strada pickup

Hi everyone, my first post. I'm going to buy a LHD Fiat Strada pickup in Belgium. I am buying LHD because later on this year I want to take it to Spain where it will remain. In the meantime I will bring it over to UK on temporary plates. But before I can register it in UK I have to get a certificate proving I have had the headlights permanently adjusted for RHD conditions. Does anyone know how tricky to do the headlight conversion? (You aren't allowed to just stick a set of "tourist" adjusters on the glass - you have to supply a garage receipt showing proper job done). I see they sell the Strada in South Africa so might it be easier to buy a set of headlights in SA designed for RHD and just swap them out when driving in UK and vice versa? Any clues would be much appreciated.

Re: Fiat Strada pickup

Hi, Firstly just check the rules about using headlight adjusters, my understaning is that they are acceptable for British registration. ( I've imported LHD VW T3's from Germany and this has never been a problem.

Secondly doesn't the Strada pickup use the headlights from the Palio? Might make it easier to get second hand replacement from SA?

JON

Re: Fiat Strada pickup

Thanks Jon. I've been away. (Saw lots of the little Stradas in Portugal, but none in Spain). I got the info re the adjusters from some govt website. They said they wanted copies of receipts showing the job had been properly done. It's probably only idiots like me take this seriously. I could knock out a receipt myself using Word in about two mins and send them a photocopy. I'll pursue the Palio suggestion. Again, thanks.

Re: Fiat Strada pickup

Wrong section, the Strada Pick-Up is essentially a pick up version of the Palio, so post it there!
