Hi all. A week ago there was a loud bang from the rear of the car .Broken spring thought I, then a rattle from the back whilst going over bumps.I can not physically do repairs nowadays so took it to local garage. Up on ramps front o/s spring broken. No way says I, the noise is from the back. Anyway the spring had to be done. Decided to do both plus top bearings. The garage could not get non fiat parts quickly so had genuine parts from Fiat,which arrived next day.
Got it done today(still not sure about the fix at that time),took it for a ride an low and behold no noises at all.Gobsmacked, noise from the rear cured by a fix to the front. As a matter of interest cost 2hours labour plus£300 for parts,total£400inc.

Very hard at times to track noises down, they travel through metal and do funny things.
If you think that's funny, how about this, both Daughters run Punto's, eldest daughter has a auto (speedgear), had all kind of weird things going on Re dashboard lights, and clicking, I had no idea so asked on Punto Section. Answer, clean the rear light assy connections at back of car.........how the hell I thought can the rear light clusters have owt to do with dashboard displays. But did it, and hey presto, all the problems solved. Ain't life wonderful...........
