It should just be a worn linkage.
Look in punto 2/b section for basic info

You can buy a new wiper linkage kit on ebay. I fitted one. hardest part is getting the wiper arms off!

Loosen the nuts spray with penetrating oil the hold at the Joint where the arm joint is and push in and out never had one fail to come off anything like that

almost certainly..

not done a VAN , but most are just a case of

wiper arms OFF,

remove trim / screws,

remove plastic tray,

undo @ 3 or 4 bolts, remove wiper assembly.

Easy fix
1 By wiper removal tool from Ebay £5.95
2 Remove plastic cover
3 By short bungee rope from pound shop 5 for 1 pound
4 Observe the way linkage move
5 Tie the rope apropriately
6 Replace the scuffle
