hi,

I'm very happy with my New-To-Me 2009 Qubo...

it had 52,000 miles when i got it and I think it must have 55,000 now or near this...

I was about to ask about what type of things need to be checked/replaced etc at it's next service and when that would be...

when up pops the Expired Coupon message with a wrench icon on dashboard.

From what I've been able to find via google search it means possibly that the last time service was done (i vaguely recall looking at service history having one at 45,000 miles but will double check when I'm in car) the mechanic forgot to "add a coupon on"? which is some kind of way to let car computer know it was serviced? and then it knows when next service will be?

this is Fiat-speak to me, it is all new language to me so have I understood this?

am I due a service and what would that entail at about 55,000 miles?

car is running fine... love the little Qubo... its the diesel 75 engine...

thanks!

Yes just a service reset item in the Ecu. I change the oil and filters myself and use Multiecuscan to reset the dpf and service settings. You might prefer to go for a basic oil and filter service at a good garage, you seem due anyway. I had a local tyre and brake garage inspect the brakes and change the fluid at about 45k. Otherwise mot and visual tyre checks etc. do for me. Where are you?

At my last service (40,000 or so) my local indie had a lot of difficulty resetting the 'change engine oil' warning message. He reset and reset and reset it but it didn't go away. I drove off with it still showing (having done this last attempt a couple of weeks after the service) yet next day after a kip it wasn't on and has never returned. However in the Menu there is no option of "Service" anywhere. When I did have it, I could never work out whether it was counting up or down from the last service!

It's due the 60k service in ~5k so I expect quite a thorough look over - is brake fluid due this time? It needs new pads and shoes plus an MOT. Looking whether to do this myself, someone said on the FF about having to remove the calipers, clamping pipes etc and suggested changing the fluid. I've chickened out as I don't have all the tools to hand, or the time.

On a related service note, my tyre wear is typical for all cars I've had, mine doesn't eat them as some users have found. I had three new tyres (made in Serbia!) and paid for a tracking check (£24!!!) as the fronts had outer band wear one side and inner band wear on the other. Not very even as in 'all over indicators' but just one place. Hope the retracking has cured that. No signs of upper mount problems but it's a 12 plate so it might have been cured quietly as ongoing improvements during manufacture. Bit annoyed I can't locate the service book for the car as that would be helpful for on-selling but perhaps a photocopy of the service invoice would help (I send them in with my accounts and never see them again).

Hi. Just changed the oil again on mine. Used ecumultiscan to reset the Ecu. There are 2 types of reset. When connected to the engine ecu you clearly find the dpf oil degradation reset / oil change. The service coupons seem to be a trivial load of rubbish, they start at 9 and count down but are so easy to edit they are meaningless. I just put it back up. BUT there is also another system, different to the engine ecu connection. You need to use another lead and then connect to "service" and it speaks for itself. I assume a device only connected to the engine ecu won't be able to reset the service data. The body and dash control units are different parts of the Can bus also.

Andydiver has got it spot on, you do need another lead for the service part of the canbus. Done my first service early this year and used multiscan to reset all, then did the same for a colleague, 2 moths later ( different fiat )
