Can anyone who works on the Quborino models or has access to Fiat data on wiring/looms/electrics etc., state categorically that all vehicles in this range have a third connector on the steering column harness for adding in cruise control? The other two coming off the harness I assume are for wipers and indicators/lights (looking at the squib in hand rather than under the steering column shroud at the moment).

Surely someone here has the knowledge or access to it?

When i looked into this a while ago [still got all the bits to do it in a box] there is on mine a spare connector block where the cruse control stalk goes.
Don't forget the shroud is different, so you will need one.
My bits are off an alfa 147

The Alfa parts are quite different (in stalk design) and after a L O T  of research I got the Fiat one from Germany for €110 (€127.90 with shipping, no duty charges at all - straight to the door with DHL) from www.teile-profis.de or www.carparts-pros.com (same firm two addresses).

This is the complete 3-stalk unit with rear wash wipe and CC. The only thing I need extra is the curved plastic insert that houses the indicator/lights stalk and CC stalk at the bottom as the car-without-CC doesn't have the countersunk hole for the CC stalk. No change to the cowl/shroud at all.

On ebay there are two.
Here is one at £125.38 - 'may not post to UK'
Here is one at £84.82 and £17.91 shipping - both are the rear wash-wipe version.

Your Fiat part numbers are:
735521317 without rear wash-wipe
735521318 with rear wash-wipe

UK Fiat price is anything between ~£199 and £220.

I hope to fit this on Sunday albeit (atm) without the curved infill unless I can do a cut out very carefully.

Hope this helps someone..;)

After a couple of hours+ spent having fun with steering wheel and wires and socket sets all over my lap/the floor/dashboard etc. I discover to my disbelief and chagrin that my 2012 Qubo is completely bereft of a spare connector to make beautiful contact with the third connector on the new-to-be-fitted squib unit so painstakingly sourced... Grrr.

Any road up, to give some info (to you Steve in particular), here's a pic of the Alfa unit I think you'll have bought (an Alfa 147 stalk).
Its mount is quite different from the Fiorino setup as the blanking block where the cruise stalk goes is a block, not a slide-in space and it's a different shape too. Here's the Qubo in-situ unit followed by a similar side view of the new unit.

This is the only shroud piece that will need changing (a bit of research hasn't yet turned up the two-hole version) so a bit of care with the knife or a drill and filing with a half round file might do the biz although it won't have the countersink like the upper stalk.

The Grande Punto dissemblement on this forum says you need a 45mm or 50mm Torx socket to take the wheel off, mine was an ordinary 15/16" nut. As advised elsewhere, only undo the nut so far and then pull the wheel towards you to ensure it's free to slide off the splines - the nut staying on prevents you getting a broken nose :) - then you can take the nut off and slide the wheel off and disconnect the wires. I put a vertical pencil line in the wheel boss, the nut and the centre spigot too for re-alignment on re-assembly.

So the upshot is now, I have a new 3-stalk unit for sale to fit a Qubo or Fiorino with the spare connector - if you have that connector, no cruise control and would like it then I'm your man for the next email you send :).

Cock.......yes the 147 won't fit then although the connector fits.
The question is how much for your parts?

Hehe - the terminology shows you are a Top Gear watcher!

Check your PM :)

Somewhat frustrating to know your van's older than my car but after some point 'they' decided to omit stuff from the loom. Might be after the price of copper went skywards? I have a connector in the headlining by the courtesy light which I think is for the alarm but no alarm fitted - they left that in...

sorry to hear it's not going to work,:( think I'm at that point with cruise on my Marea(n)

if you think your wiring options are "varied" - check out the wiring of a 12V ciggy socket on the 2006 to 2012 pandas:spin:

This new unit is still available, for anyone wanting cruise control in their Quborino.

Re: Qubo Cruise Control - gutted!!

will this fit my qubo 2012 trekking

If you have the Dualogic gearbox that's the easiest fit. I think the manual requires a clutch pedal switch too though I've no experience of that. You also need the white (?) molex connector on the loom behind the steering column and I think you have to remove the column shroud to see if that's there - not too arduous a task and I'm sure a true delight to find you have one (sad face as I didn't...)

From there I think it's just plug and play, no going into maps and upgrades.

I've been thinking of investing in one of these kits for my Panda TA 4x4, but they also do them for Qubos and Fiorinos, Ducatos, Puntos, Doblos, 500's (I'm also considering a Fifi myself to lug a few things around).

They look pretty much plug and play for Fiats with CANBUS.
Someone over on the 2012 Panda forum already had one fitted by the company, but didn't see how it was done.

That's all very well but it's nearly £300 and it's not 'Fiat'. The unit I have available is £110 plus postage (brand new) and it's the genuine Fiat part (735521318) and is plug and play assuming there's the white connector inside the column shroud.

What more do you want? Takes about an hour to fit once you locate the screws under the shroud, behind the column raise/lower lever and extract the steering wheel and airbag (gently) and do the necessary and reverse the process. No messing with the ECU I'm told, that's it, Cruise Control fitted. Great to use, easy to set etc. etc.

(I bought this unit from Germany as Fiatalfaparts never have them in stock even though their units are some £100 less than RRP)

I'm still attempting to see if this CC stalk unit (complete 3-stalk assy.) I have will fit the new Qubo I got a few weeks ago.

Luigi, you mention a 'spare' connector but when I take the shroud bottom off and feel around, there is only the loom going to the stalk unit and that has two connectors, a lower and an upper and on my loom there's no floating spare.

SO I looked at the rear of the 3-stalk unit I have and it looks like this,IMG_5890.JPGshowing ONLY two connectors on the rear

IMG_5891.JPGThe three front ones...
being the Airbag and steering wheel controls which plug into ports under the airbag unit when you've learned the magic of how to pop that off..

From this I deduce that the bottom connector is probably the one that has extra contacts for the CC stalk so I doubt looking at the new stalk that there is a connector for a flying lead which if unused would be taped back to the loom.

Can anyone who has a CC stalk confirm this? I know the insert where the indicators go needs a new piece (has a cutout for the extra stalk) but that's all after doing all the wheel dismantling.

Don't forget the safety procedures when disconnecting/reconnecting airbags though please guys

Yep - battery disconnect and wait 30 mins before pulling plugs...

I had an idea - I could remove the lower shroud and take out the multiconnector on the bottom of the fitted (2) stalk set and plug it into the three stalk unit - then on with the ignition, see if turning on the CC illuminates the dashboard indicator light... Can't wait to try now but I've hired a van this weekend and the Qubo is in a compound somewhere else...

Just whilst I think on, last time I was going to remove the steering wheel, I got the centre nut undone and removed (I think) two of the three boss connectors but something was not undoing somewhere though I can't remember what it was which let the whole lot remove. The simplicity of the small centre unit coloured ones is confusing until you realise they simply lift out of the female half.
