anyone used this?

i want to (be able to) self reset my own oil service intervals and also reset the ECU oil change interval, which you -also- have to do with DPF vehicles so that the ECU understands the true degradation level of the oil. or else, your DPF cycles get jerked around (from what i understand)

i currently have an ELM 327 BT OBD II interface i bought of ebay that is talking fine now with my android phone for live data feeds from the engine but it may be a cheapo chinese copy....would this work with multiecuscan?

i was browsing over in the grand punto threads and they said that you needed an "extra yellow cable" (in addition to the ELM 327) to do advanced ECU alterations but im thinking that doesnt apply to me with a simple fiorino "cargo van" and not a grande punto.

thx

edit: i already know i want to buy the program, i just need to know what real copper-style cable inerface that will properly interface with my fiorino's ECU to change all the parameters that i want/may want to change. thx

strike one! crickets....

OK so forget that one, i already boought the MES software.

second question: the cable.

a supllier im talking to has following options:

"If you need FULL HARDWARESET STANDARD Multiecuscan the price is 99 Euro
If you like with GALVANIC ISOLATION Interface + 25 Euro"

what is galvanic isolation? and do i need it for my 1.3 MJ? perhaps not all cars require such features?

no cricket this time! :)

thanks.

is no one on this forum using multiscanecu software?

i was glancing at some of the other forums and found this interesting tidbit: after you change the engine oil and would think to normally reset the "service light" increment feature, there is another feature needs to be reset (ie, told that the oil was just changed) and that's "oil just changed" option under the DPF menu. apparently, the DPF trends its operations using the age/tiredness of the oil as one of the inputs.

there's also various calibrations that can be performed on the dualogic system (other forum users said they did the cal 1X/year.

YES - lots of MES users on FF,

just this section is rather quiet,
look in punto2 / stilo section for LOTS of threads,
or panda + 500 for more 1.3 diesel info, ;)

thanks again.

it is interesting how one group of fiat owners with the same motor and within the same forum can be interested in such things as diagnostic software/cable topics and the other are not.

I'd love a definitive answer on the potential use of what's branded as the Grande Punto cruise/indicator/wiper stalk set, being 100% compatible with the Quborino models. I had CC on my Fiorino van and loved it but my MyLife doesn't have it and I miss it a lot. The set on Fiatalfaparts (£99.99 but never in stock - list price £189) looks like the identical set (part number 735521317) but looking at the same set on ebay sold by S G Petch (c £145 but can't find a listing at the moment), it doesn't list our vehicles amongst the compatibles.

Assuming this is the right unit, does anyone have experience of how to remove the steering wheel and/or fit the replacement stalk set? I know about the battery disconnect and wait 30 minutes for the airbag power to decay bit - is there a whopping nut holding the steering wheel on? No doubt knowing the propensity of (Turkey-)Fiat to use Torx bolts everywhere, it will be 5-sided or something equally obtuse to put off the enthusiastic owner.. :(

nedro018,

I prefer to leave all this kind of thing to my main dealer, to me, by the time you have purchased all the equipment, and spent hours of your time on it, its a total waste of money and effort.

Hence, though I'm interested in reading how other people do things, I would never ever get involved to this level........

Cheers Qube O.
