I don't know if my horn worked when I bought the car a year ago, it didn't work the day I needed it to. I took it back to the dealer as I still had one months warranty left. The horn was tested and worked, but the green earth wire in the loom was faulty and had to be replaced. They quoted £128 per hour and five to six hours to renew the wire from the relay to the horn! I argued with the sales manager who sold me the car and got the quote down to £200. I agreed and took the car in. They rang and said the drain holes under the wipers were clogged and that the loom has been sitting in water and quite a few wires needed attention so much so that a new loom is needed. The cost to the garage labour and materials would be £1000. Again I argued and got it down to £388.
Has anyone had a similar experience? I have no idea how much a loom costs or how difficult it is to fit, but I did not think that the price they offered was fair! Anyone think I have been done?
