The boot release button on the key fob is right where I handle the key for starting the car etc. So we get this "boot open" warning on the dash.... less so these days but it happened again the other day so....

The following pics show how I have reduced the sensitivity of the button considerably. The rubber pad flicks off with a knife. The pad has an up-stand on the underside to engage with the button. I cut some height off the up stand (I was not that bothered if it never worked again...)
Press the pad back over the hole. I can still release the boot but have to apply purposeful pressure to the pad.
It you really wish to be able to go back to "factory default" blue tack or other such would work if placed so as to hold the pad off the switch (to be removed later).

The boot opens and rests on latch regardless of lock state. The only way to close it is to get out the car. Actually was happy to be able to turn the auto lock off, need to be sure we can open our child's door after any kind of incident.

Ok i see, ''qubo'' has tail gate that pops the door open, where as the fiorino door has a handle and the bottom button just locks and unlocks the door like normal.
Just to add with auto lock enableld, in a shunt/ crash. the doors will be unlocked.

This took me 3 minutes - and 2 of those was spent finding my knife! A simple solution to what has driven me mad for over 3 years . Well done andydiver and many thanks for the great pics :worship:

You Fiorinoists would not appreciate the frustration of the "boot open" message and having to run round the back at traffic lights, in the rain, to "gently" close the tailgate whilst congratulating Fiat on such a superb keyfob design ;)

How do you activate auto lock, does it mean it locks automatically when door closes or car starts?
I would like it on my vehicle 2012 qubo
