I have had my Qubo a few months now and I cannot tell you how many times my OH says I have forgotten to lock the car. I spend my entire life locking it. Back door even unlocks while I am driving. It is sending me mad.

I have returned it to the dealer who says nothing is wrong.

Getting very frustrated. Really worried it will unlock itself and something will be stolen. Has anyone any suggestions?

Really missing a digital speedo, not sure why an analogue is still legal, it takes so much effort to keep checking the speed, you take too much attention from the road. Hopeless and very dangerous. I thought we had moved on.

And do not get me started about closing the rear side doors or turning on the rear wipers, or filling with windscreen washer. And who wrote the handbook, the index is impossible? I had to turn it page by page to find out how to change to BST. I was driving car for several months with the clock 5 minutes slow because I could not find how to change it.

Perhaps it is you who is the danger? Millions manage to use analogue displays without issue daily. I wonder how they managed before digital dashes

If it is that much of an issue why by the car

I'm sure there are many reasons we can all find to criticise FIAT, but I personally think these are a little unfair.I think the Qubo is a fun, excellent car in most respects.

The back door problem is almost certainly only because there are 2 unlock buttons on the remote control; one does the whole car ( the upper button of the pair immediately adjacent to each other, the second being the lock button with a padlock sign), the other (separate and smaller button) releases only the tailgate for ease of loading when you just want to put something in the boot without entering the car. You must be pushing the separate button. My previous Bipper had a habit of doing as you mention- numerous times I'd set off to see a boot open warning ( if you check your dashboard you'll see there is helpfully a warning if the boot is open). I just put it down to a too responsive button, or me being a bit careless with the remote- it certainly wasn't enough to send me into paroxysms of despair and hatred for my car.

Do you fiddle with the key when driving, or have something e,g,heavy also on the ring that can be actuating the boot release when driving? If not, then I suggest you're opening the boot before pulling off by touching the separate release button, and failing to notice the warning for some time- leading you to believe it's opening itself whilst in motion. It obviously isn't if the dealer has checked all is well- perhaps they did not explain re the separate button, but the handbook does. A cure- remove the remote battery and operate the locks with the key.

The handbook is not unique in having a poor index- few manufacturers have easy to read books, as they are all such complicated cars now. Just post-it the page once you find it, for future reference- easy. As to the clock being slow- well I've not found them to be good timekeepers anyway!

The rear doors are not a problem to open/close, very easy to slide and great for entry, once you realise you need to actuate the handles by pulling them towards you to release the lock which stops them sliding when fully open. They WILL slide on a hill if you don't hold onto them, or fully open/close them- but any sliding door car is the same.

The rear wiper has it's own rotating control on the stalk- clearly indicated by a logo printed on it--how difficult is that?

Surely you DROVE the car before you bought it.Didn't you notice the round analogue dials?

I suggest that it is not,in fact, the Qubo at fault here. You should familiarise yourself with all the aspects of your car before driving it, in order to do so safely.

Probably best if you sell it then life is just to short. Don't forget your speedo will probably be reading about 10% under, so you will need to add some extra time to calculate that! Then maybe compare to your sat nav that may be giving you a true reading in those very small digital digits. By then you will be in a different speed zone and have to go throughout it all again, don't forget to look out of the windscreen every so often:D

Hi, I have had my Qubo for about a month / 1200 miles.
The sliding doors are excellent, pulling the handle release to close them is simple and effective and getting to the high baby seat is a joy. I too see a "boot open" warning sometimes and while a silent swear might have taken place I realise it is all about the key - no technical issue. Would be nice to disable this - as you can disable the door lock on movement.
The wipers work fine.
The manual is very clear - there are a lot of settings - just go over it with a cup of tea and play for while on the drive. Was very happy to find a way to change the dash lighting level - something I was not expecting and much appreciate for night time.
As for the dials and speed - your eye line does move more to view the dials than for a tacky over-lit heads up digital display found on some french cars BUT I much prefer a clear (no lights in my eye) view of the road ahead. I use the engine note and sensible hazard perception to control my speed moment to moment. The Qubo gives such a good view of the road ahead - love it.
Nothing wrong with the car

My nemo went through a phase of unlocking itself at night and rolling both windows down. Admittedly that was after I'd dropped my keys in a bucket of water while washing it! It stopped doing it after about a month!

Just thought i should post an update that i actually risked my life tonight driving a car with an analogue speedo..... in the dark

It was tough, I'm sure there must have been a few close shaves i was unaware of due to the effort of checking that pesky analogue speedo and a lot of luck involved, but somehow.... SOMEHOW..... i made it there and back and lived to tell the tale.

I'm contacting the papers tomorrow to see if i can sell my harrowing and inspiring story (y)

We are actually a friendly bunch on the fiat forum, but we are defensive about the cars we own, have spent ages researching before buying, and take pride in ownership of one of the most interesting low cost easy to understand super practical multi purpose cars out there...
If you need real help just ask or if you just want to slate it off because you were given it, are used to owning "executive" limos, or just represent another car manufacturerer:) then you will get sarcasm...
Hard to read handbook? OMG I've never seen an easy to read handbook...
