I've just bought a very well priced Fiat Fiorino Qubo Mito meta alarm system 50901816 off ebay, at a fraction of the £180 dealer cost. Any one tempted?

The kit is complete and exactly the same as you might buy from your LD!

It comes with instructions which are a bit rudimentary but I'm game to give it a try.

Can any one point me to a Qubo/Fiorino service manual which might help with dismantling/accessing around the dashboard to fit the ultrasonic detectors?

Wonder if anybody has fitted one themselves or has a dealer installed one?

Will post on the Fiorino forum as fitting should be identical.

Yes i have fitted that system to my fiorino.
All i can say is bonnet switch and led indicator and the ultrasonic sensors are easy to do, but you have to remove engine bay fuse box to make a connection underneath it, and also the fusebox under to the right of the steering wheel has to be removed as well to make connections on the back of it,and also thats where the control box goes as well.

Thanks Luigi.

Am game to have a crack at fitting myself, wondered if I can pick your brains if I come unstuck or ask for tips/tricks?

Cheers

I bought this same Fiat alarm (50901816) 2 years ago from the dealer with my Qubo for £85 but I've never fitted it and I'm not likely to now. It's still complete in the box so if anyone wants it I'm asking £35 inc P&P to UK. Send me a PM or email if you're interested, otherwise I'll put it on eBay in a couple of weeks.

I dug up an old thread because i need some help.

I want to buy a burglar alarm. Maybe the genuine one is perfect for me, but i have some worries:

Is it a canbus burglar alarm? or a simple compatible alarm?
because my fiorino is canbus and as far as i know with a simple compatible alarm will have to do some cutting wires to fit a canbus car and im affraid for the car to do something like that.

Last, does it have extra remote controls/ can support? or only connect with the one genuine remote control of the car (because the second doesnt have remote control) ?

Any help will be apprecciated.

If it's the META alarm then your ok with cambus, as this alarm is compatible
The alarm comes with a remote but you can use your key remote, after a dealer visit to get it working.
This alarm is set up for the fiorino/qubo wiring, and it's a nightmare to do, as you have to remove the fusebox from the engine compartment as you need to connect wires to the underside of it.
Also you have to do the same to the other fusebox in the cab, and the control box fits to the back of it.
The bonnet micro switch is a doodle, as is the sensors that mount on the a pilers
The arm/dis-arm led wire just tucks between the screen and dash.
It's not an easy fit, and you have to be brave to start pulling fuse boxes out, the instructions are fairly clear and all the wire colours and where to put them in there relevant pin locations are clear also.
I would not do this unless you have some sort of knowledge.

hehehe i wouldnt ever dare to start doing it. I will go to a fiat dealer or an aftermarket installer ( depends of the price of each will tell me ). I just saw some META alarms in the ebay ( cheap enough ) and i wanted to be sure that it will fit to my car, because of the canbus.
Thank you very much, you are always helpful :)

Good luck with that!
I didn't have any luck with the dealers, they didn't want to know, one of the guys on this forum needed a fuse box change and the dealer had to get a technician from italy to do the job, so i bit the bullet and had a go.

I'm the original thread starter here.

Sadly have had to part with our Qubo before fitting the alarm.

I've now advertised the complete kit which I bought on Ebay in Fiat Classifieds,

link here

https://www.fiatforum.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=31603&cat=156

At a considerably cheaper price than I paid on Ebay should any one like to have a go at fitting one to their Qubo.

Cheers

Hello guys,

need once again your help.

The car is on the technician for installing the META alarm.
All is ok, just one question that technician do to me, but i really didnt know.
Where is the WFS (blue color) cable of the alarm? In the page 13 of the instructions says its under the steering wheel and it connects to a 12pin cable, but the technician dont find it there. Also the instructions shows pictures that is kind of different in real car.
Any help will be apprecciated.

Hi

I am currently installing a Scorpion SA30 into a Fiorino (2011) and apart from a few headaches its working well. I have stalled a bit now on the central locking side as I have tried connecting (as the one of many options) "for vehicles with neg CDL" but nothing worked then "for vehicles with single wire CDL - neg to unlock & neg to lock, these two only seem to work 50% ie It will unlock but not lock or visa versa.

Any ideas anyone regarding central locking? seem a shame to waste a remote option !

I still have this alarm (in the box) and as I'm having a clear-out, if anyone wants it for £10 plus £3 p&p (UK) send me a PM (y). There's 4 on eBay for c£70 so if no Forum member wants it, I'll put it on there.

Is it plug'n'play - as in all connections exist and I just, erm, plug it in?

Hi R-V-M, if you look back in the thread you'll see Luigi fitted the same alarm and it does require some fettling to install. Let me know if you're still interested.
Cheers
