Cinq wheel bearing

Im certain one of my cinq wheel bearings is screwed!
Ive got a constant droning noise when driving which only seems to dissapear when I take take left hand bends. Only problem is, despite trying to pinpoint where the noise is coming from i.e. front/back (bloody hard to do when driving!)& doing the usual shaking of the wheels etc when the cars jacked up, Im at a total loss which one it is!
ANY IDEAS?

Cinquecento............Its not the size its how you use it!

i would go with the rear as its the most likely to go on the cinq.i replaced my rear passenger bearing not long ago and couldnt tell for sure it was the rear till it was really worn down, and even then i couldnt tell which side till i stripped down the hubs.what i did was to fold down the rear seat and lift the boot liner so that i could hear all the noise in the rear to determine if it was the rear.only cost me £20 for a rear wheel kit and an hour or so to fit

When you take a left hand bend, the majority of the cars weight will be on the right hand side of the car. if the noise goes away when turning left, this is beause the bearing isn't under as much pressure. I think it's the front left but hey what do i know? (not a lot)[8]

Jack the back of the car up, make sure the front wheels are chocked and it can't roll away as you need the handbrake off. Spin each rear wheel, if they sound gravelly the bearing is shot.

Could be the fronts though.. check them in a similar way.

The most reliable way to check is to remove the brake drum or disc (pain in the arse, I know) and turn the hubs by hand - should then be very easy to hear/feel if the bearings are "gritty".

Gave it a try,& didnt hear a thing so I stripped the drum off, & as you said Pete, the bearing sounds 'gravelly'! Any ideas why this happens? there's absolutely no movement in the bearing!

mines was the same but the hub nut had been torqued to the max so it wasnt moving much, but the bearing was well worn.common problem on the cinq which in the FAQ's is attributed to a dragging hanbrake overheating the bearing.when i bought my cinq the handbrake had been overhauled for the MOT and the bearing went 2 months later so i can see the handbrake causing that
