My sons checked for stones, none, only me in car so dont know if worse under load, it doesnt do it reversing....Its definately related to wheels i think cos the clicking gets faster and slower matching my speed. its mark 1 i think, 1997
MK1 it is erm u got alloys or wheel trims if you have trims with tie raps on them they can cause a ticken but try gettin ur son or sumone else to try tighten the nuts at the rear and if that dosnt help try puttin like 2-3 ppl in the back listen see if it gets worser and when you turn if its the bush or trailng arm jack it up on a stable jack and move the wheel up and down side to side if eres alot of play init could be bush or trailng..
I had this problem, it was whenever I turned the steering wheel to the left though. Garage looked and it and said my wheels weren't aligned... a few quid later prob solved
is it more of clicking noise over a rubbing noise? does it speed up as you speed up? check your brake hose retaining clip and make sure its not the tyre rubbing on that.
Yea my MK2 punto (w reg) does the same, i tried replacing the tappets, and had no luck also replacing the shims on the tappets and still nothing. My bro whos a mechanic rekons its the either little end bearing or big end. Im gonna check when i have finished my workshop.
