| "Lights Check" Dashboard Warning Light Hi, I'm new to Fiats and have just bought an 02 Punto Dynamic. I drove it at night for the first time yesterday and noticed a warning light on the dashboard display that I didn't expect to see. Checked the handbook when I got home - it was the "Lights Check" warning light (an amber upside down lightbulb with an ! inside). According to page 36 of the handbook this comes on when "there is a fault in the lighting system". I checked all of the lights and everything was working fine, so I'm a bit confused as to what the problem might be. I'd appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on the problem. Many thanks. Gethin

| blessed are the apostates | Re: "Lights Check" Dashboard Warning Light most likely to be damp in a connection, try wd40 on all connectors. you said all lights work, have you tried all lights at once, side/tail, dipped, full, fog front and rear, hazards (6 bulbs), brake & reverse. check all at once, sometimes this is the easiest way to spot a fault in the lighting circuit as any short will usually show itself (such as tail lights switching off with each idicator flash). | ||

| Re: "Lights Check" Dashboard Warning Light Thanks for the advice. I checked the bulb wattages, and they were as they should be - I thought that one may have gone high resistance, but they all looked pretty new (no silvering up etc.) I shall WD 40 the connectors and also try all the lights on at once as you suggest.

| Re: "Lights Check" Dashboard Warning Light I've checked the bulbs, WD 40'd the connectors and checked the system with all of the lights on as suggested. All lights are working OK, but the warning light still remains on...I'm rather befuddled, to say the least. Any more ideas? Cheers

| Re: "Lights Check" Dashboard Warning Light Yes, I checked the wattage given on each bulb - they all looked pretty new, with no signs of darkening/silvering on the inside

| Re: "Lights Check" Dashboard Warning Light Finally found the culprit - it was a 5W tail light bulb which should have been 10W. Have now put the correct Wattage bulb in and everything seems OK. The rating wasn't clear on the bulb in question, so I missed it on the initial check. Once again, many thanks for the helpful comments and advice.
