| I have a Fiat Punto Sporting 1.2 16V on an S reg, It was burning oil, app. 5 litrs a fortnight. So someone suggested it might be numerous things but after a few simple diagnosis questions i narrowed it down to piston rings. I was told a wet and dry compression test would answer the question. So i went away, removerd all four plugs, did a dry and wet test 1 at a time on all four cylinders. Dry, 12, 12, 12, 12 bar. Wet, 14, 14, 13, 13 bar. Does this prove the rings are goosed? Thanks

| Re: Fiat Punto Mk. 1 Sporting Compression Before you go mad on repairs, take some Forte (only Forte!) engine flush, pour it into the oil circuit (forget what is written on the tin) and drive it as normal for a few days. Drain the oil with the Flush in it, replace filter and oil. If problem persists then it won't be the piston rings.

| Re: Fiat Punto Mk. 1 Sporting Compression The first thing i did when it started was do an oil and filter changed, not using forte flush. Made abseloutly no difference?!
