Theres no need for medium, light, etc on the rear, you can go as dark as you want, its the front passenger and drivers windows that need to be lighter

i think he wants it so it blends in, so you dont get the "van" look

so it would get lighter as the tints got to the front

Ok then, im thinking on a cost issue, having loads of different light film will bump up the cost and labour charge rather than going for one complete one on the back and light on the front

Any tints forward of the pillars is now illegal.
You just take your chance.

Re: Front windows tints

70% of light must be able to pass through. Most cars have a slight tint on them anyway which will more or less make any tint illegal (which is where the above has come from)

As for price - I paid £120 for mine all round on my bravo (discount club price) with a fader film from chrome to black and IMO looks sweet.

It was done by these guys http://www.window-tinting.net/ and they travel to you to do it. Mine was done at donnyshow last year. May be worth waiting for a show and getting a few of you together to get it done for a nice little discount

Despite best efforts, all cars with tints look like vans (rear only) or drug-dealer wheels (front and rear).

Tinting; a craze I am yet to understand

Re: Front windows tints

I will try to find the paperwork and post up but no film of any type is allowed forward of the pillars,no of a few people who have had to remove from car on side of road or car was impounded.

I paid £120 for all of car in local dealer.

This has been discussed in a cento thread before and i would like to add my two penneth on having your tints done at home.

I dont disagree with having it done at home, but i am not for it.

The reasons for this is you are not in the correct light setting at home, so the film could be ''curing'' and drying out before it is even on the windows.

Also dust particles in the air could be sticking to the film before it is on the windows, spoiling the finish.

Nevertheless wimmys tints do look good, although it wouldnt have been the method i would have chosen, but i dont disagree with wimmy.

On this front home VS company, there is now a balanced arguement i feel. Which ever you decide, im sure you would have taken time to consider your options
