Re: punto question

What age and mk? the mk1 comes in 1.1,1.2,1.4 and 1.8 petrol, and other sizes in diesl that i can remember. But there are obvious differences, like 1.2 8 valve multi-jet or single point etc, 1.2 16valve, 1.4GT, 1.6 16valve etc.... What age of car are you wanting?

Re: punto question

You could get a good condition mark 1 and 2 punto, and possibly a higher mileage mark 2b and 3. I would recommend a mk2 (W reg ish) ELX or similar. Or you could get a late GT, Sporting mk1 Punto in emaculate condition.

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW...ch_full=SEARCH

NB: after looking on Autotrader looks like your looking at mk1, mk2.

Re: punto question

Personally I'd go for a late model, low mileage 1999 Mk1 1.2.

Re: punto question

Yes on both counts. It will be a lot better all round and that's coming from a 899cc Sei owner.

The mk1 Punto seems alot quicker in a straight line than many of its rivals, and also quicker than the 16v Punto, although at top end speed the 16v will overtake. The 1242 and 1108cc engines sound great, and give you no endless amounts of fun.

The egine is also a Fully Intergrated Robotised Engine (F.I.R.E) so if the cam belt snaps it wont have a nasty effect on your engine, this is with all fiat engines.

As Steve has said go for a late mk1, therefore your get all the kit and the value for money.

a bit right a bit wrong! lol

1.1 8 valve spi
1.2 8 valve spi
1.2 8 valve mpi
1.2 16 valve mpi
1.4 8 valve mpi turbo
1.6 8 valve mpi

and 1.7 diesel (i think) a turbo and a non turbo one.

and for £2.5k i would go for a very mint mk1 sporting (1998/1999) or a mint 1997ish gt

and even a mk2 sporting.
