why has it got mk2b front and normal mk2 rear? never seen one of them b4?

if it was a mk2 to start with then alot of effort to make it look like a mk2b and same the other way round

could it possibly be a front or rear end damage so changed the parts

Im confused because acording to the plate its a 2002 model but the 2b wasnt introduced over here until 2003 was it? (my knowledge is seriously lacking)

Thats right, my Mk2 is on an 03 plate, and from the cover of my Haynes the Mk2 was made from October 1999 to July 2003

I saw a 5 door active in town today. Mk2 rear i.e. just one part lights, not onto boot, but had mk2.b front end. Old lady driver, not young person

The mk2.B 5 door Punto's only have 1 piee lights, it's only the 3 doors that have the reflecor things on the boot.

There were some new Mk2's on ebay that were headed for Japan but the ship had a fire and so they never got delivered due to potential smoke damage or something. So you could buy one and register it as a 55...

The Mk2b came out in 2003, and as stated above, the 5dr has no extra relectors by the lights. It does (like the 3dr) have them on the rear bumper though.

With the Punto HGT at the top of the thread on an 02 plate, I'd guess it had some front end damage and they fixed it with new Mk2b parts - lights, bonnet, bumper and wings.

Maybe its a cut and shut

Or maybe the owner wanted to make it look like a new shape one, as a sort of challenge to see if he could maybe.

most people prefer the front of the mk2, and the rear of the mk2b, not the other way around
