| It was broken, honest | Speedo Broken Hi, My sister in law has a Punto SX 1996 and the speedo and milometer have stopped working, are these electronic or do they still use a cable. Any ideas on what to look for would be appreciated. Poggy

| Two thing usaully. either the speedo drive has snapped in gearbox, or speed transducer faulty. Reomove speed tranducer and see if the shaft on the gearbox has come off. if so just replace the drive. a couple of quid

| I had a similar problem with my 95 Sporting. The problem turned out to be a 'dry' solder joint on the circuit board. I re-soldered it and saved myself a small fortune
