Hi All!

Just joined up as I've been reading the MK1 thread quite a bit. Bought a 1998 Mark 1 Punto 60s for £400 off ebay a year ago with only 32,000 miles on the clock!!

Well, I've done 15,000 miles in it during those 12 months - just £200 worth of work, and it just flew through its MOT - I've grown to really love it, despite when I got it being a bit annoyed about no central locking, electric windows or seat adjustment.

Very pokey for around the city, and over 100 miles for a tenner on long trips!

Dunno why I'm telling you all this, sure you all already know.:p

One question though. I've been having problems with my left knee for the past few months, and I've got a sneaky suspicion it's from using the clutch in stop/start traffic and being unable to adjust the seat up and down. Anyone else suffered like this at all?

Cheers!

glad to hear you like it, pretty much same as my first ever fiat except mine was red... Its what fiat do best, cheap fun motoring (y)

some mk1s have height adjustable seats ;) My old GT had them, not sure which others do but i suspect a sporting and ELX will have them also if you see one being broken on ebay or in a local scrapyard. I dunno if any other seats bolt straight in that have it although i notice mk2 sporting seats are pretty much the same as GT seats with different covers, the rails maybe different though.

The floorpan on a cab is different to the hatch, might have summin to do with it, no idea about the fabric.
I know the seats on a 500c are different to the hatch as they are meant to be a bit more waterproof

Hi All!

Had a similar issue myself, was down to the seat being 1 notch forward than usual after I had some mates in the back (I need it all the way back usually), forgot to readjust and ended up with a painful clutch knee after a day of driving

If it's height you need, chuck in a cushion!

Thanks all.

If it *had* height adjustment then I'd lower it, as I'm on the tall side. I'll look for some SX's in breakers yards when I have a chance.

Pain that I have to do quite a bit of stop-start stuff. Not such an issue on long-distance runs though, obviously.

Really great car though and enjoying reading the posts on here.
