Hi guys!

Again I turn to you in my desperate need of help

I sorted the last problem with the crank sensor wiring (topic here: http://tinyurl.com/hrudua4) but for the sake of keeping me on my toes, the car has developed a new electrical problem.

When I'm driving it very sporadically turns on the check-engine light and loses nearly all it's power, it doesn't cut out though but it will need a bootfull to get going again. The warning light turns on only for the moment of low power.

It usually does this after driving on the motorway for a longer time (then again, I mostly drive on motorways) and in several few seconds lasting burts before after 20-60 seconds it forgets the problem and starts working normally again. The fault appears usually but not always in an engine braking situation.

The fault can sometimes stay on if I'm stationary and goes away if I press the accelerator harder. Then the car starts moving reluctantly until the pedal is pressed enough and it violently surges onwards.

The symptoms very clearly point to a sensor fault but I'm not certain to which sensor. Also I would like to add that power loss is smooth, as in something wrong with fuel mixture or fuel cut-out, not as sharp and sudden as what the ignition failure is.

Thanks in advance, hope you can help me! :)

I ordered an OBD reading equipment so hopefully tomorrow I will be wiser about what's bugging the ECU. I drove 100km this morning and the stalling was almost constant. Fingers crossed the reader will arrive sooner than the sensor goes "boom" :D
