Isn't that part of the floor covered by the cover over the manual pretensioner? Maybe that's why it's not there.I have just fitted a replacement pretensioner and from looking at the pic there isn't room.

I must have a look at the one I bought yesterday, I'm sure there is some way of fitting the cable. Good idea to stop us lifting the boot lid with the key!

Took the cable and lock out of my spare one today, Definitely no hole in the Cabrio to fit the release lever, will find somewhere else to mount it,

As pointed out in Didge's thread, the reason cabrios don't have a boot release is for security so you can leave the roof down and go off into the shops without worrying about any belongings that you can lock in the boot safely, worth bearing in mind if you do fit a release you'll lose that level of security.

I often leave my roof down outside the house on a sunny day, a couple of days ago I left it outside my parents house with the roof down and also nipped into sainsburys without bothering to put the roof up

I am of the belief that if somebody really wants to get in they will. I know it could make it easier for someone, but if carefully positioned it won't be readily visible. May consider a solenoid, then at least it would only work when ignition is on.

Update us if you do manage to fit it, something I might do in the future too (y)
