i dont trust this gas stuff, dont want my car to explode
If you don't know actual facts about something, shut up!
LPG is in fact safer than the petrol tank nowadays: thick metal tanks that can only be filled 80% to allow for expansion, overpressure valves that vent to the outside in the unfortunate event heat of a fire causes 20% expansion isn't enough, LPG doesn't burn in open air as easily as petrol and shoots 1 short flame burst instead of a lingering fire under the car in case of an ignited fuel leak...

LPG is only unsafe if you're an idiot about it and never check the condition of the setup, but so is petrol...

be afraid of poor installs not lpg systems themselves, thats just stupidity. My family have loads of LPG'd cars, they are great! And installed properly are safe and reliable.

The car with the dangerous LPG system fitted is dangerous because of the mug that owns it, in which case it would be dangerous anyway cause they own it.... And if they blow themselves up then its just the stupid culling themselves.

yea sure its safer, go look videos on youtube when cars explode for fun when fitted with gas containers
Again, if you don't know what you're talking about...
Some videos of neglected 20yr old beater cars in some east block country/Russia, yeah, that's an accurate reference...

Both videos don't look very western world, probably diy conversions, and although they both blew up quite spectacularly, the occupants walked away unharmed in both cases...
Yeah, very dangerous!

Now look up some videos of petrol or even diesel cars burning down in an accident with the occupants trapped inside...

I'm waiting for my brand new LPG car to arrive: the only thing accessible from inside the car is... the petrol pump!

18% of all road vehicles in Italy are LPG as of 2015! If an installation for a Fiat car is done by an "official authorised" workshop it has to pass muster by a Fiat inspector. If you are thinking of buying or installing an LPG system then BRC should be your only choice. They are the market leaders and do conversions for the manufacturers.
I have never heard of an Italian car exploding or catching fire. Petrol ones yes but LPG no.
Anyone who has a rifle and a couple of incendiary bullets can do a little test and post it on YT. Take two fuel cans. In can one put a little petrol in the bottom enough to fill the can with petrol vapour. In can two do the same with LPG. Now fire bullet one into the LPG can. A small puncture with a short lived flame will ensue. Bullet two into the petrol can. It will explode!!!!!
In the days when most people smoked we all happily carried around LPG gas lighters in our pockets didn't we?

I have a Lovato system in my 2016 Doblo T-Jet. I've seen the interface, anything you can think of is adjustable and can be diagnosed. My Fiat dealer is also the LPG installer and he did a great job installing and configuring the setup: the parts under the bonnet are either invisible or installed in a way that looks OEM, the transition from petrol to lpg is seamless, the performance is even slightly better and smoother than on petrol, the tank level indicator now works really linear and accurate after a few adjustments...

I don't see why that would be inferior to BRC or any other system. It's definitely better than the Vialle system I had in my previous car, and it should be more reliable and cheaper in repairs too as it's much simpler.

I totally agree LPG is much safer than petrol. If I'd find a Doblo Natural Power petrol tank (much smaller), I would consider swapping it under my Doblo because it's simply an unnecessary hazard to drive around with such a large volume of petrol and petrol vapours to do only 10% of my traveling with.

Other than an LED changing colour there is no indication that one has switched from petrol to LPG.
Here in Italy BRC are considered to have the best system and are Fiat approved.

Lovato is a daughter company of Landi, the supplier Fiat uses worldwide for their OEM LPG and CNG systems.
That's why my dealer is allowed to install it in brand new Fiat cars while keeping full warranty, and other Fiat dealers in this province must send their fleet to him for both OEM and after market LPG work.

What's the price per litre? Here the average is 0.44 centessimi. The unleaded petrol price is about EUR 1.45 per litre. So there's a marginal saving!!

Here in Belgium LPG is around €0.35-0.50, unleaded 95 is around €1.20-1.50 depending on the brand and location.
With my driving habits my Doblo consumes either 8.5-9l/100km petrol (about €12) or 11.5l/100km lpg (about €5).
Since my LPG installation cost about €2000, this means I won the investment back in less than 30k km on LPG, or about 35k km real world driving since the first few minutes of every trip is on petrol and I sometimes do a trip on petrol to flush the system and avoid the petrol in the system to go stale.

I've also done the comparison to diesel, as a Doblo T-Jet with LPG costs more than a 1.6 MultiJet, but it's still cheaper to go with T-Jet + LPG after about 80-100k km, which still is only 4 years for me.

Apart from the calculations, it just feels good to fill up for €20-25 and know it'll last me over 500km. That feeling is every time you fill up the tank, the investment for the LPG installation is only once and forgotten very fast.

I had a BRC system fitted to my 2004 Stilo in 2009, best £1200 I've ever spent on a car. Saved me loads of money, never had any issues and I'd happily have another LPG'ed car again!
