Debadging a mk3

I have read posts on debadging a mk1 and a mk2, I also saw the post about removing the side strips said that the lot is just glued on (no holes or clips behind), is this the same for a mk3 (2004 model)?

I really wanna remove the punto badge from the boot and was also considering removing the side strips but I want to make sure I wont be left with holes to fill

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated

cheers everyone

Si

Re: Debadging a mk3

The big nasty blue fiat badges are stuck on im afraid. The front one is screwed to the grille, not sure wot u would do with the hole there tho if u took it off! The side strips are also clipped on, so you would be left with some holes yes.

Re: Debadging a mk3

Cheers guys, I wasnt gunna remove the big Fiat badges, I just wanted to get rid of the Punto badge at the bottom of the boot and the Active badges from the front wings and maybe the side strips if they were just stuck on.

So let me get this right:
Punto badge and small active badges on front wings are just stuck on (no holes)
Fiat badge front is screwed on
Fiat badge on boot is just stuck on but has a recess
Side strips are clipped on (holes behind them)

Is that right?

Re: Debadging a mk3

Cool, I wanna get this right before I attemp doing anything as this isnt my old Clio anymore, the Punto cost me a lot more than the Clio did so I dont wanna go ****ing things up, its not as easy as going to a scrappy any more for parts as the car is too new

Re: Debadging a mk3

the side rubstrips have no holes behind them, there are many a punto owner who remove these

if you want a smooth boot then replace it with a mk2 boot

P-U-N-T-O is glued on
ACTIVE badge on wings are glued on

Re: Debadging a mk3

Right the Punto badge and the Active badges are no more

Bob gave me a hand taking them off this morning when we got back from town, looks so much smoother now and they were easy as pie to remove

Pics to follow once Bob comes back on MSN
