Re: new car shopping

Not a bad car....

Only problems I have had are the usual punto problems....

Dead power steering and juddering wipers

other than that, no probs.... jump in and drive each time !

Re: new car shopping

Splendid car. Mine was fabulous. The only problems I had was the fuel pump failing at 55,000 miles and the fuel tank filler tube splitting because it was rubbing on the wheel arch as the car 'shook' at idle. Both done under warranty.

Great economy, great performance, reasonably refined etc. No handler (the engine makes it nose-heavy) but it's fine.

Keep it serviced (which is expensive at Fiat), get the cambelt changed early and everything should be OK.

Re: new car shopping

im starting to feel like the punto would be a good choice. the only reson i wasnt happy with my last fiat was that it was too small too underpowered and felt too unsafe simply cos it was too tiny (can you guess what it was?)

i also found fiat dealers expensive for parts and services. but most dealers are anyway.
