Can anybody help me identify what this engine is? I bought it understanding that is was a 1999 1.2 8V MK1 Punto MPI engine. Although I suspect it's a MK2.

its defo not a mk1 engine.. none of the mk1s came with a plastic inlet mani... Also that style of throttle body and ecu is not seen on any mk1 engines. Its 100% not a mk1 engine.

engine number is on the small flat section that faces upwards on the front side (exhaust side of head) and the belt end. Generally really hard to red, you may need to clean it up with a bit of emery cloth to be able to read it. Often pretty much impossible but if you can read the first 3 numbers it will prove to the seller that its not a mk1 engine - although really just looking at it anyone who knows their way round a FIRE engine can tell you its not a mk1 engine

engine number location (same on all FIRE engines)
