My beloved Mk1 Punto 60s 2.1 is idling very poorly and is now cutting out. I've changed the coil pack, HT leads O2 sensor and sparkplugs. Anyone out there come across this problem?

At a guess, you may need to clean out the throttle body & stepper motor, better known as idling valve. The throttle body can get quite gunked up. Worth doing anyway, you'd be surprised the amount of stuff in there.

Yes and no. The problem sort of went away and then came back.

did you do anything or did it just clear up and you left it and then it returned?
