Airbag warning light stays on

The airbag warning light on the dash stays on (2000 model punto). This happened after accidentally removing the airbag fuse. The light remains latched on since. Any tips? Will disconnecting the battery for a coupe of hours do the trick?

Hi. Did you solve the problem already. My Punto does the same except that the thing that triggered the light was to move the passenger seat back.[?]

When the airbag power is dissed the ECU latches in a fault. You need to go to a garage with a diagnostic box to get the ECU fault codes reset.

Got more additives than fuel in my tank.

Did that today. The big question there was where to find the connector. Finally found it. It is located behind the plastic cover on the very left side of the steering wheel where there is a small tray, about knee high. Everything else took a minute. Thanks

You need an ACR and car code pod to fix it yourself. £300 to £400 to buy. (If anyone knows where I can get a cheap one i'm interested).
The garage will be able to reset it in a minute, after spending half an hour looking for the right plug.;)

Dave.

So much to do, so little time.... and Totally Skint!! :(
