Not sure of exact year but its MK1. My mate in Holland, his girlfriend has a Punto S and my mate says it has no power steering. Its not now i am home and thought about what he was saying as he said he was looking and seen no Hydraulics. Now i an not 100% sure but thinking the punto is like my Stilo and electric so my question is. Does all Puntos have power steering and my mate gave up to soon?

Cheers

no not all mk1 punto's have power steering. And if they do they have hydraulic style, mk2 and newer have electric PAS but not the mk1's. And to be honest, a low spec punto doesn't need power steering, i prefer them without. Once you get to sportings and GT models then ok, they have wider tyres and would be pretty heavy without but just a 55 or 60 s with the little skinny wheels and tyres really don't need PAS

It'll be very obvious if it has PAS I recall there is a large pump at the front left of the engine bay, a second fluid reservoir left of the brakes with high pressure pipe work running under the ecu to the pump (see picture) also you'll be able to go lock to lock stationary with one hand! If you need to he-man it's not got it.

Cheers guys. It was more a curiosity question rather than anything else. I did have a wee shot of the car last year and yes, it does not need it. I was just under the impression power steering was standard.

Every day is a school day they say. (y)
