How Many Miles?

Alright all

I was just wondering if anyone knows how many miles I need to run the Punto in before I can open it up, its done 118 miles at the moment as I only picked it up on Tuesday evening.

Any info on this matter would be great

Also does anyone know if it is possible to change the head rests as the plastic ones are crap?

Cheers
Si

Re: How Many Miles?

The manual will tell you. I think it is about 800 miles from memory, but give it a read anyway.

It's only done 118 miles on a '54' plate...

I'm guessing it must have been sitting on the dealer's lot (or somewhere else) for anywhere between 7 - 13 months before it sold first hand to Si the other day with only 5 delivery miles on it

Cool Re: How Many Miles?

Crikey, that's low milage. I got my Corsa at 2500 miles and 9-10 months old, which I thought was low (at least it's been used). I guess it didn't sell until the price dropped low enough. Possibly something to do with the povery spec and those head rests. On my Punto I couldn't change the solid head rests on the front. The rear ones came out for putting the seat down.

Re: How Many Miles?

It's always nice to think your car has been sat there for 12 months with no of the parts that need to be lubricated actually being lubricated.

Give me a mega-miler anyday...

Re: How Many Miles?

Cheers for the advice people.

It had be sat in Reg Varys lock up for about 10 months before they moved it over to the forecourt 2 days before I brought it. It have a full service before I picked it up (which they forgot to stamp in the service book ) so they changed all the lubricants and other fluids.

When I picked it up on Tuesday it had done 6 miles so Im assuming they took it up and down the road during the service.
