Punto transplant

Simple question

Can the FIAT coupe 2.0 20v turbo engine be placed into a punto with no major work?

how much would you be looking at if done professionally?

(I know theres no way i can do it now but in a few years i may be interested )

Re: Punto transplant

no major work? you joking? its one big job mate, will cost alot of money, will take alot of time to fit, just buy a coupe if you want that power.

Fairly massive thread about it not too long ago, still active too: http://www.fiatforum.com/punto/42443-coupe-2-0-turbo-into-punto.html

Re: Punto transplant

very dangerous if you ask me.

the work required in making it fit comprimises the structure of the chassis IMO, making the car dangerous. i only know on 1 20VT punto. and its not on the road much.

the 16VT fits better. requires custom mount and driveshafts and thats about it.

Re: Punto transplant

I have a complete Lancia Dedra turbo engine with gear box drive shafts, loom, ECU etc.

The best thing on it is the visco coupling, which is as good or even better then a LSD.

Would make a nice project for anyone interested.
