| Punto 12. 8v engine sound problem ....well I think its a problem. I recently purchased a punto and its a Mk2. I checked for engine noise and it currently sounds like a disel engine( whirring sound). I thought that most newish cars are suppossed to sound smooth and constant. I'm very new to cars and not sure what noise the engine should be making. PLEASE HELP!! Karim zaoui

| No its not a Diesel Engine . Its a petrol engine..I know I'm new to motoring but not that new :-). The engine doesn't sound sooth ....sounds like something is rattling. Karim zaoui

| It Might Be the tappets. These Are shims And your have to by new to adjust :)
