Re: Mirrors?

I'm assuming the ELX has electric windows?...

Does the mirror make a buzzing noise when pressed (this would indicate the connection to the mirror is still live)? Check to see if anything is stopping the mirror from moving; e.g. stone, spider, dirt etc.

Could possibly be the electric motor, these are relatively cheap and easy to replace.

Does the passenger side mirror work ok, this would eliminate fuses out?

Hope this helps,
Matt

Re: Mirrors?

The fuse I think is the same one as other stuff including the indicators so I would imagine that means that's ok. If it has manual mirrors and the knob doesn't move the mirror then it must have broken the connection (happened on my uno). Don't know how easy it is to fix because I just leaned out and pushed them instead!

I've never been in an electric mirror punto but on some cars you have to push the knob in or turn it around to select which mirror to move before you push the knob around to move it, so a long shot but just an idea.

Cool Re: Mirrors?

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion they're electric mirrors. I found the range of adjustment to be small, and therefore if you can't get the angle you need, try moving the housing by hand before tweaking with the little joystick. Since I had a wing mirror knocked off (and which I replaced before I crashed into someone due to not having a mirror), I know that the control is down 3 small cables which link directly from the joystick ionto the mirror. If you can't adjust it then it could be jammed up completly, and then you'd be looking at new mirror units
