By the way, a mig welder is just.. too expensive.. any other ways to weld the underneath?
Cant a normal welder be used? I have those ones with a kind of a stick that is melting..
they are only for thick metal
I just scrolled through the thread on a hurry - why not visit a body shop specialist? Nice car though
I hope people don't mind a bit of local language - Најпаметно, однеси ја кај автолимар и ќе ти кажат што како...сигурно има некој добар низ скопје кој што можи ова да го санира
I hate to say it but here that car would be scrap
The fact you can't lift it means the structure has complete gone from the sills and the floor pan, added to that the seats are mounted on that rusty metal which in an accident is going to offer no resistance and the seats could easily part from the floor.
It is a death trap and at a stage where simply patching up the holes just isn't going to solve the problem
what we got here in case of a crash is a simple diy seat ejector, injury free
The point is to put the trolley jack under the rear AXLE or front WISHBONE and not under the rotten body itself. It is also much faster than using the mechanical jack provided with the car. Standard trolley jack from Lidl, Hornbach, Obi etc. will suffice and the investment will pay back big time in the long run. Bottle jack is smaller and cheaper, but, IIRC, it is too high to fit comfortably under the wishbone.
As you can see by the flag under my nick, I am from Czech Republic - not that it matters.
i would advise against buying that, a guy i know bought it for like 20 squid, i lifted the car and trolley jack was slowly going down lowering the car with it... **** quality
